Meet 10 Leaders Who Represent Diversity in the Future of Health and Health Care
The health impact of racism. A CPR app for cell phones. "Prescriptions" for food and heat. What do these contributions have in common?  The innovators behind them—recipients of the RWJF Young Leader Awards—are featured in the December issue of Health Affairs. The issue profiles the 10 winners, ages 40 and under, who offer great promise for leading the way to improved health and health care.

You'll meet innovators like Somava Stout who implemented simple, low-cost innovations that decreased new patient wait times from nine months to two weeks and increased colorectal cancer screenings by almost 40 percent. Or Ruben Amarasingham who developed a software application that identifies patients at high risk for readmission resulting in hundreds of thousands of dollars in estimated savings with no increase in staffing.

In recognition of RWJFs 40th anniversary, Foundation leaders established the RWJF Young Leader Awards to highlight the important contributions that people can make early in their career to improving health and health care for all Americans.
